剛柔流為日本空手道四大流派之一,創始人宮城長順於1915年遠赴中國福建學習拳法,回國後將其所學之技整合,並創立“剛柔流”。取名源於明代軍事著作《武備志》“法剛柔吞吐”。自一九三零年成立至今,其道場及學員廣布世界各地。


剛柔流創立已有過百年歷史。然而,由於年代久遠以及分會眾多,各會所使用之品牌、標誌雖然雷同,但多年來卻從未作出更新與細節上修整。為此,經我們重新檢視所有品牌元素後,考量到品牌之歷史、應用之廣泛、當代審美等因素,決定在保留原有標誌及元素的基礎上,只在排版、字體及比例上著墨,並考量整體性,把品牌元素應用至相關宣傳物品當中,從而令品牌整體簡潔有力、時尚、具感速感而統一。



Goju-ryu Karate is one of the four major genres of karate in Japan and its founder is Miyagi Chojun. He went to Fujian, China in 1915 to study boxing, and integrated the skills he had learned to create "Goju-Ryu" after returning to Japan. The name is derived from "the method of hardness and softness in rhythm of breath" in the Ming Dynasty military work "Wu Pei Chih". Since its establishment in 1930, its dojos and trainees have spread all over the world. 


Goju-ryu has a history of more than a hundred years. However, due to the long history and the number of clubs, although the brands and signs used by various clubs are similar, they have never been updated and tweaked in detail over the years. Therefore, after re-examining all brand elements, and taking into account the brand's history, wide range of application, contemporary aesthetics and other factors, we decided to focus on typesetting, fonts and proportions based on retaining the original logo and elements, and apply the brand elements to relevant promotional items  considering the integrity, so as to make the brand concise, powerful, fashionable, fast and unified as a whole.
